Concept

For Art 350 each member of the class had to redesign the Winter 2014 issue for the Literacy Links journal. Many of the pieces in this issue revolved around how writing influenced events in history. To best reflect this idea, I went for an old newspaper feel.

To fit the theme of a older newspaper, I used off-white for the backgrounds, and restricted text to red and black only. Serif fonts in the small body text add to the feel of newspaper, while bold titles invoke the feel of news headlines.
